Following the hosting of the DM Awards 2019, last week in London, Mallon Technology was delighted to return home with a Runners Up award in the Private Sector Project of the Year category.
The award is recognition for the Document Capture services we provided to the Linen Hall Library in digitising material from their ‘Divided Society’ collection. The collection is one of the most important archival projects taking place in Northern Ireland at the moment. Consisting of hundreds of unbound, stapled periodical titles between 1990 – 1998, it forms a significant resource for the period as well as the centrepiece for two new exhibitions and outreach events.
The work undertaken by our team for the Linen Hall Library was part of efforts to provide greater public access by making the resources available online via a dedicated website.
Representing Mallon Technology at the awards ceremony were Michael McQuillan and Andrew Bennett. The Black–tie event, held in London, was a fantastic way to celebrate all the success within the industry at the end of a big year. On receiving the Runners Up award, the judges commented on the cultural significance of the work undertaken by Mallon Technology and they congratulated the whole team on their work to successfully deliver the project.
Speaking afterwards about the Runners Up Award, Marion Murphy, Managing Director, stated:
“We are delighted to pick up a Runners Up award from our first ever DM Awards. In a highly competitive field, that the Project of the Year category was awarded by a judging panel is extra special! Congratulations must be given to everyone who was involved in the Linen Hall Library Project.”
