Yesterday, Mallon Technology attended the Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Northern Ireland and are delighted to announce that we returned home as winners in the Best Service Category!
Celebrating excellence and innovation in all aspects of government procurement, the GO Awards Northern Ireland provide recognition of outstanding achievement by local companies who have successfully delivered projects in the governmental sector. Held in the lavish surroundings of the old Titanic drawing rooms in the Titanic Hotel, Belfast the ceremony was hosted by Holly Hamilton from BBC Sport and BBC Breakfast.
Representing Mallon Technology at the awards ceremony was; Marion Murphy, Andrew Bennett, Kathy McLean and Michael McQuillan. The group were delighted to be announced as winners in the Best Service category and got to join Holly on stage as they collected the glittering trophy.
The award recognises the excellent customer service we provided to the Linen Hall Library in digitising material from their ‘Divided Society’ collection. The collection is one of the most important archival projects taking place in Northern Ireland at the moment. Consisting of hundreds of unbound, stapled periodicals titles between 1990–1998, it forms a significant resource for the period as well as the centrepiece for two new exhibitions and outreach events.
On receiving the award, judges praised both the cultural significance and importance of the work undertaken by Mallon Technology as well as the positive feedback received from the customer that emphasised the dedication and support provided to the Linen Hall Library throughout the project.
Speaking at the event, Marion Murphy, Managing Director stated:
“We are delighted to win a GO Award for Best Service in our first year of entering! We always strive to deliver outstanding customer service across all our projects and to receive recognition of this is fantastic. I would like to personally congratulate everyone who was involved in the Linen Hall Library project for their hard work and dedication in successfully capturing a nationally important collection.”
Success at the GO Awards Northern Ireland is not the end for our submission as we now qualify for the National GO Awards. This will pit our winning entry against the category winners from England, Scotland and Wales. The National GO Awards take place on 09th September in Birmingham.
We are looking forward to attending the event and being able to celebrate the industry’s success as we compete for the National title.
